Paris Saint Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is on the verge of the sack following his side’s remarkable defeat by Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League round of 16.
The French side appeared to be cruising after Kylian Mbappe had given them a 1-0 lead on the night, and 2-0 on aggregate, in the first half.
Mbappe had two further goals ruled out for offside, before a mistake from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma allowed Real Madrid back into the tie.
From there, it was as if all the experience from the PSG side melted away, as Real Madrid and Karim Benzema scored twice in 12 seconds of in-game time to turn a remarkable tie around and come out 3-2 winners on aggregate.

And while there were certainly arguments made after the match that there was a foul on Donnarumma by the Frenchman, it did not change the outcome of the tie, which sees a PSG lineup Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar dumped out of the Champions League at the first knockout hurdle.
Pochettino facing sack
Now, as a direct result of Champions League failure, Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly facing the sack at PSG, paving the way for Manchester United to make a move for the former Tottenham boss.

His reputation may have been dented a little by his time with the Parisians, but it has not affected his chances of taking the Old Trafford hotseat, it would seem.
