Favorites to win the 2021-22 NBA Championship
The Suns had the fifth-best price in the season-opening futures market, but strong recent form has seen them move to the top. Phoenix is on a five-game winning streak and has only dropped two games in the last 10.
That said, a lot of those victories have come against sides far inferior to the Suns. In fact, in their last three played against teams with the eight best records in the league, head coach Monty Williams’ side is 1-2.
Bettors looking to back the Suns may benefit from waiting as all of their next five games are coming against teams currently in the top-six of its respective conferences. Plus, of their final nine games, only two come against teams in the bottom three of the two conferences.

In evaluating other top futures prices, there are a few teams whom bettors may benefit from backing at this point in the season. The Nets, for one, play six of their final 10 games against teams currently ninth or worse in its respective conference, while the Warriors also play six of their last 10 against the same grouping.
Further, this may be the best price bettors see on the East-leading Miami Heat. Only one of their final eight contests comes against a top-four team in either conference before closing out the season with three straight against the Hornets, Hawks and Magic, all teams outside the top-eight in the Eastern Conference.
Finally, in terms of recent movement, the biggest transition belongs to the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers. On Feb. 10, the Lakers had the eighth-shortest odds to win this year’s championship, but a 3-7 record over its last 10 games has seen them drop to the 16th-shortest odds.
Other notable movers over that period include the Boston Celtics (14th to seventh), Chicago Bulls (ninth to 12th), and Minnesota Timberwolves (18th to 15th).
