The Arsenal faithful have flooded into social media on Monday evening, to single two players in particular out for widespread criticism on the back of the club’s meeting with Crystal Palace.
Mikel Arteta’s troops of course returned to action a short time ago.
In their first outing on the back of the international break, the Gunners made the trip across London, for a Premier League derby showdown with Crystal Palace.
The clash, as will prove the case with essentially all of the club’s remaining fixtures over the final weeks of the campaign, marked a crucial one for Arsenal, after the capital outfit were leapfrogged by north London rivals Tottenham into the top-4 on Sunday.
When all was said and done at Selhurst Park, however, the evening’s visitors simply failed to step up to the plate in any way, shape or form, en route to a frankly embarrassing defeat.
Goals on the part of all of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha guided Crystal Palace to an eventual 3-0 triumph, on an entirely memorable night for Eagles boss and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

‘Hard to choose who was worse’
On the back of the full-time whistle bringing proceedings to a close in South London, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of those of an Arsenal persuasion being absolutely up in arms.
On a night which saw the club’s Champions League hopes dealt an altogether considerable blow, a host of the Gunners’ stars struggled in a major, major way.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe looked well off the pace, whilst Mikel Arteta was left with little choice but to hook stand-in left-back Nuno Tavares at the interval after the Portuguese endured nothing short of a nightmare opening 45 minutes.
As alluded to the above, however, none have been singled out for quite the level of criticism on the part of Arsenal’s supporters as two members of the club’s midfield ranks.
The players in question? Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard.
Amongst the condemnation directed at the pair in the game’s aftermath, both Gunners brands have seen their performances as ‘disgraceful’, with just some of the widespread social media back showcased below:
Odegaard and Partey have been a disgrace this game they need to fix up

Odegaard has been absolutely terrible in every way today, you hate to see it.
